KUNDALINI (coiled)
Called the “king of yogas,” the serpent power of the Hindu goddess Shakti is unleashed by chanting, visualization, and measured breathing, usually while the practitioner is in the lotus position. Shakti is said to uncoil from the base of the spine and work her way to the crown, or lotus, chakra at the head, where she copulates with Shiva.
Leading to “union with the divine,” or a realization of one’s own divinity, the awakening of kundalini has been called “breathtaking.” However, not all proponents mention the possible side effects of an uncontrolled awakening: twitching, feelings of insects or animals crawling inside one’s body, exhaustion, depression, memory and concentration problems, and symptoms of psychosis.
Kundalini master Gopi Krishna described one such uncontrollable awakening: “I knew I was dying and that my heart could not stand the tremendous strain for long. My throat was scorched and every part of my body flaming and burning, but I could do nothing to alleviate the dreadful suffering. If a well or river had been near I would have jumped into its cold depths, preferring death to what I was undergoing . . . I racked my distracted brain for a way of escape, only to meet blank despair on every side. I felt myself sinking, dully conscious of the scalding sea of pain in which I was drowning.”
Krishna’s trauma reminds one of the scriptural depiction of Hell and of an end times trial described in Revelation 9:6: “During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.”
Episcopal priest Morton Kelsey equates contemplative prayer with kundalini power.
Lena, could you do a post on energy medicine? Three years ago I had a “Bio-energetic assessment” to determine if I had food allergies, etc. But have since begun to realize it is medical quackery mixed with paranormal activity.
The machine they use (Bio-Meridian—or something??) has copper involved. I’ve done a little research but have yet to find the connection with copper.
I had two herbalists tell me that they had to be “grounded with copper” before laying hands on anyone, to keep demons from being transferred to them. However, they said the Holy Spirit is “more effective.” They also said that the “energy” is actually the Holy Spirit revealing where the body needs healing and that some people are born with the ability to “tap into” this energy, but with others it must be learned. Sounds like water-witching or dowsing doesn’t it??
What’s really disturbing is that they still claim to be Christians. A couple of them are also into the River movement/Bill Johnson stuff.
Thanks for the info on “energy medicine.” The whole copper vs. demon thing is quite odd, but not unlike primitive shamanism.
Do you have any links from sources who teach this? Thanks.
You’re right, it’s odd.
Sorry I don’t have any particular links. I’ve just read up on some of the true science behind copper. It’s one of the highest conductors of electricity. It also has microbial properties that block the transfer of disease, which is one reason it’s used in plumbing.
Perhaps this is where some herbalists and witchdoctors get the idea of it blocking the “transfer of demons.” Afterall, many of them believe diseases are actually demons.
And perhaps they even believe it’s a conductor for “tapping into” the Holy Spirit, Afterall, most of them believe the Holy Spirit and the “energy” are one and the same.
It’s just sad that so many desperate, vulnerable, sick people are being deceived by these unbiblical concepts.
